Maryam Danishwar is a litigator at the Firm’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Danishwar’s practice focuses on a wide variety of litigation matters in civil and commercial litigation, including cases involving product liability, catastrophic losses, wrongful death, premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, negligent security, and intentional torts. She has also gained experience in cases of fraud, breach of contract, and unlawful business practices. Ms. Danishwar is responsible for every aspect of civil litigation from initial claim to conclusion.
Prior to coming to Norton & Melnik, Ms. Danishwar litigated toxic torts primarily in the areas of asbestos, environmental, and product liability litigation on behalf of numerous product manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. Ms. Danishwar has served as an active second chair on a number of trials, for various clients, having prepared and argued motions in limine and participated in voir dire.
Ms. Danishwar also has experience as a plaintiff’s attorney where she focused on product liability, personal injury, wrongful death and mass tort litigation. During her law school tenure, Ms. Danishwar also clerked for Neighborhood Legal Services with a focus on Family and Housing Law.
Ms. Danishwar received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in political science and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. While in law school, Ms. Danishwar was a member of and served as the justice of Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity, International and Justice of the Ford Chapter.
Ms. Danishwar has been named to the 2015 and 2017 Southern California Rising Stars® list.
